Profe(sora) Jan Kurtz, creator of the Cultural Thursdays series, opened its 21st season with a VIRTUAL BOOK LAUNCH of her debut book: Northern Shores/Southern Borders: Revelations of a Bilingual Life September 3, 2020 brought to you by Central Lakes College Spanish department with the aid of CLC’s Videography class.

With the encouragement and techno help of Tracey Kloeckl-Jimenez, the present instructor of Spanish and Latin American Studies, this first ever Cultural Thursday ZOOM will take place at noon, be recorded, and available for your attendance.

Jan presents her book with a power point presentation of people and places included in this journey, woven together by the common thread of Spanish. From early ‘aha’ moments of Spanish language learning to translation for medical missions, Central American refugees on the 1980s Overground Railroad, she puts faces to the words and from their faces, their words.
