November 9, 2020: AAUW (American Association of University Women), Brainerd Chapter chose Northern Shores – Southern Borders for their book review this month.  The presentation was a ZOOM event for the local chapter meeting and therefore, was not recorded.

The program included background on the development of the book regarding story selection. Discussion included the present political situation of the U.S. election juxta-positioned with Chapter 24, highlighting Jan’s week as an Election Observer in Mexico in 2000. Check out page 222, where she reflects on what might happen in the U.S. Election of 2020, which manifest itself a year after the writing, on January 6th!  (Not yet revealed at this November, 2020 meeting)  Worth looking back at that essay!
